A Star (or two) is Born Great Taste Awards

A yummy award!

We broke out the champagne jellies to celebrate our gold star wins at the Great Taste Awards. Dubbed the Oscars of the food world nearly 9000 products were judged by 350 chefs and food experts and fewer than 30% were given awards. Fab Fairies and Wicked Tarts won two awards:

A gold star for our Chocolate Cake with a Passion Fruit Dark Chocolate Ganache. The judges said they ‘liked the outer ganache covering and floral decor – very pretty’ and that the texture was ‘pleasingly gooey and the ganache is very smooth’. They thought the taste was ‘well balanced’ and ‘we liked the innovation’

A gold star for our Carrot Cake. The judges said it ‘looks very attractive’ and a ‘nice hint of spice’.

They thought the texture was ‘very light, moist, good balance of frosting’ and it had a ‘very pleasant flavour, a very good, light sponge. Very moreish’.

We knew that both these cakes are very popular with our customers however it’s fabulous to have the national accreditation. It has always been our customers’ feedback that helps us choose our range of goodies and we work hard at developing products that tickle your taste buds. In addition to making the favourites we constantly test and taste new flavour combinations however they have to be rigorously tried to meet our exacting quality standards.

The Great Taste Awards are now in the 18th year and is run by the Guild of Fine Food. As they say ‘Great Taste is to delicious food and drink what Michelin stars are to fine dining’.
